Dinesh Jotwani, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India
He has nearly 30 years of experience as a lawyer in India. He holds vast experience in litigation (Civil, Criminal, Corporate, IPR), and has worked for several Fortune 100 companies, Indian businesses, Multinational Corporations, Startups and Individuals.
Mr Jotwani is a Co-managing Partner at Jotwani Associates, a multi-specialist Indian Law Firm with more than 40 Advocates and Professionals. The law firm has diverse practise areas such as Litigation, Government Relations, Intellectual Property, Corporate Law, Taxation, Matrimonial disputes, Real Estate, and Immigration. The firm enables its clients to achieve their business and personal goals.
Dinesh is also an inventor, author, teacher and philanthropist. He holds two US Patents on e-discovery processes (7831544 & 8380687) used in litigation/ investigations. And he has authored a book “Interface between Competition Law and IPRs: A global perspective,” published by GIIP (2012). Dinesh is a Guest Faculty and teaches students for topics like – Cyber Security, Patents, IPRs, Startups in several institutions, such as Delhi University, IIT Delhi, Amity, Symbiosis, Institute of Spinal Injuries, Indian Academy of Law and Management (IALM), and many more law and engineering colleges. Mr Jotwani takes up several Pro-Bono and Public Interest cases to regularly appear before Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts to seek justice for the poor and marginalized section of society.
Earlier, he has been an in-house Counsel, Partner in Law Firms, and also an Independent Consultant to several technology companies, such as NCR Corporation, Techorneys LLP, Microsoft, Symantec, and Evalueserve Pvt Ltd. He has also held several executive positions in coalitions, such as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (“FICCI“), the National Bar Association of India (“NBAI“), and the Business Software Alliance (“BSA“).
Mr Jotwani is an Honours Graduate in Economics–from the University of Delhi (BA, 1991), and a post-graduate in Information Technology & Software Development – at NIIT (1992). He holds a law degree (LLB), from the University of Delhi. (1994).
